even offer Belly Dancing classes.  If you are hooked on theatrics try one of our

Art

The Hammond Area YMCA is offering free art classes!  Students will learn skills in
painting with different styles, approaches and personal expressions.  Painting from
life, painting from sketches and painting from one's own imagination will be
touched upon.  Use of paints, brushes, and more will be provided during class
sessions.

These classes are made possible through a Community Arts Programming
Grant and is supported by the Northern Indiana Arts Association, the Indiana Arts
Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.  Call the Y for dates and
times.




Dance

Classes for ballet, tap, and jazz run monthly. The member fee for these classes is
$25.00 per month, the non-member fee is $50.00 per month.


Beginning Ballet  - Tuesdays                  Ages   3 Yrs.            3:00  -  3:40 pm

Beginning Ballet & Tap - Saturdays       Ages  4 to 5 Yrs       2:30  -  3:30 pm

Advanced Ballet & Tap  - Thursday        Ages  8 to 9 Yrs       7:00  -  7:45 pm
(Instructor Invitation Only)

Ballet - Tap - Jazz  - Saturdays                 Ages  6 to 8 Yrs       3:30  -   4:30 pm


Belly Dancing                       Ages - 16 and up

The newest fitness craze for women.  Belly Dancing is a fun way to work the core
muscles while improving balance and burning calories.  

Class meets on  Monday from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm -


Member:  $25    Non-Member  $50




Theatre Classes          Monday & Wednesday   

                               Classes run monthly

Ages 5 to 10 years                    6:30 pm - 7:10 pm
11 - Up                                       7:15 pm -  8:00 pm

Member Fee $10.00      Non Member $20.00

Script reading, audition preparation, non-verbal communication voice, diction and
character building.  Teaching and rehearsal with every class.



Guitar Lesson - Must bring your own guitar

                     Saturdays  -  Ages 8 yrs to Adult

                                      starting September 12th

            Beginners         9:00  - 10:00 am   or  10:00  - 11:00 am
              $11 additional book fee due at first class paid to instructor

            
                                     Harmony & Theory Basic  
                  
                                           11:00 am - 12 noon

For guitar players with some knowledge of chords. Learn notes on the neck, the major
scale, major & minor triads, intervals, note values and harmonizing the major scale.

                                 Full Member        $20 per class
