The Hammond Area YMCA strengthens the foundations of our community through well-being and fitness, camps, family time, swim, sports and play, and other activities for people of all ages, incomes and abilities. The Hammond Y is a community resource and as such we are happy to offer a variety of special events and programs that benefit everyone in our community.
Indoor Triathlon
Join Y's across the state for this special February competition. The indoor triathlon includes a 10 minute swim - 15 minute bike ride (on stationary bikes) - 15 minute run (on treadmills). Total mileage is added to determine standings.
- Cost: $20, includes event t-shirt
- Registration: Now thru Feb 11
- Event date: Any time between Feb 14 and 26. All participants must schedule their time with Dave Mays, Program Director and have their triathlon completed by Feb 26.

"Biggest Improver"
The Hammond Branch YMCA is starting a new program called the "Biggest Improver". This program has been designed to motivate everyone out there to improve their overall physical fitness. The program consists of five categories that include: body weight, body fat percentage, strength, endurance and flexibility. Each participant will do a "pre-test" in these five categories. Then, after a three month period participants will do a "post-test" and see how much they improve! The participants with the greatest improvements will win their division. This program is free to Hammond YMCA members!
